Strangers, telling a bit of their life.
Passengers is a place where strangers tell true stories out loud: thirty seconds to two minutes, in any language, something that really happened to them. Everyone is passing through. We put the stories in the feed, each in its own light, with the words as they were said and in English. We turn a few into videos, and we tell the teller the day it goes live.
The light
Every story is a light crossing the dark. Its colour is not where the story is from, nor who tells it: it is what the story feels like, named when we read it. Tenderness is rose, laughter yellow, fear teal, absence blue. A story that turns changes colour along the way. Yours is white until it has been heard.
What happens to a story
- It is transcribed and read by an editor, and first by a machine that flags what should not be published: names of other people, minors, hate, harm.
- If it clears, it goes live in the app with your first name and city, nothing else.
- A few are turned into short videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, with your voice and English words on screen. Faces never appear.
- You can withdraw a story anytime from its page. It leaves the feed; a video already out is taken down on request.
What we keep
The recording, the words, your first name and city, and an anonymous id for your phone so the app can show you your stories and tell you when one goes live. No account, no email unless you gave one. Write to hello@passenge.rs to ask for anything to be removed.
The rules
- True, first person, yours.
- No full names of other people, no one under eighteen.
- One take. Tell it like you would to a friend.
